You'd think that people would check before they have something printed?? As a calligrapher, I frequently get texts that are misspelled, and use poor sentence construction - I'm always wondering if I should ignore it (not wanting to insult anyone), or mention that I caught a problem and ask if they want me to correct it. I do find myself "judging" people's intelligence - not a very nice characteristic, by their use of language. (thank goodness for my spell checker!)
BTW, Richard Lederer has written a couple of hysterical books about the misuse of the english language, by foreigners, and native born american idiots! It makes great bathroom reading!
LOVE IT! especially if he was actually drunk and wearing this shirt. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was around midnight on a Saturday, so I'd say the odds are pretty high.
ReplyDeleteHow hot is your blog? Now they're naming bands after it!
ReplyDeleteExcellent blog! I have a similar one (http://abusedapostrophes.blogspot.com/). Interested in exchanging links? Keep up the good fight.

Hi Lianda,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment. Technically, a spell-checker wouldn't help in this case because "your" is a word. :)
The_punctuator: What a coincidence! Looks like we started our blogs around the same time.
