
The apostrophe catastrophe here also creates a spelling error because "potato" shouldn't have an "e" in it. This sign should also have a comma after "eggs." The guys in the background clearly had no idea why I was taking a picture of their little shop.
Actually, the plural of potato can be/is spelled with an 'e'. That's certainly how we do it in England, anyway.

ReplyDeleteBecky, I agree. Potato, potato's, potatoes or potatoes' could all be gramatically correct in one context or another, but never potatoe's.
