New York Public Transportation Catastrophe

I don't tend to post photos that have been posted elsewhere, but this one, originally posted on Gothamist, was too good not to share.

L.e.s.t.e.r. took this photo and Gothamist used it in its piece about MTA typos.

Thanks to L.e.s.t.e.r., Gothamist, and my friend Marisa for making me aware of New York's typo problem. If New York was able to clean up Times Square, it ought to be able to fix a few pesky grammatical errors.

  1. Don't forget about starting the sentence with And (coordinating conjunction). 'We mean it' would have sufficed.

  2. And should never be used to start a sentence.

  3. I agree with the first commenter. "We mean it" sounds stronger.

  5. I have a different opinion on what you call "typos". I consider a typo to be a keyboard error that was never corrected. I simply refer to them as punctuation errors or misspellings due to illiteracy or some DEGREE of illiteracy.
