Old Navy College T-Shirt Apostrophe Catastrophes

Syracuse's website report that Old Navy is now selling college t-shirts with apostrophe catastrophes on them. Here's an example from OldNavy.com.


Some of the smartest people in the world go to Stanford, but obviously none of them were involved with designing these t-shirts.

    It's such a common eror, I'm surprised anyone noticed and cared. Of course, I noticed and cared, but I am special.

    There's a difference between saying things that don't make sense and saying things that don't make sense to everybody. I suspect all those dumb people you know who went to top schools simply needed to speak more slowly and with shorter words for your benefit.

    You are making the assumption that this means something like "Let US GO!!"

    But perhaps the t-shirt designer just came out of a mind-mapping session and the intent was more along the lines of, "Stanford lets go of its pent-up energy."
