Canadian Hockey Catastrophe

As the ultimate fair-weather fan, I managed to find a hockey-related apostrophe catastrophe to coincide with Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals.

Is there only one referee in the area?

Go Bruins! It will be a catastrophe if the B's lose tonight.

Thanks to Joe for sending in this apostrophe catastrophe from the TransAlta TriLeisure Centre in St. Albert, Alberta.

Well there used to be only one referee in hockey until this century. There might still only be one at the junior level.

It is interesting to note that a lot of people say Luongo is the future of Team Canada, and in fact likely to move Brodeur next couple of years.

Generally in hockey, there are 2 referee, one on each side of the area and managing a group each. A source referee may also delay on the part time, in case one of the others is damaged. Summer time hockey also often uses one umpire only, as it is generally performed on a 50 percent area with lesser groups.
