A New Way to Screw Up

Andrew found an especially unusual apostrophe catastrophe in South Wales.

I'll bet the sign makers had a conversation that went something like this:
Bloke 1: "Should it be your or you're?"
Bloke 2: "I'm not sure. Let's use a combination of the two to be safe."

Geniuses!

Thanks, Andrew!

Wow. You really gotta bring the extra-stupid to come up that option.

To be fair, the sign makers might be better at Welsh grammar than English grammar!

That's a new one on me. Pretty funny.

Just found your blog and love what I see!

Hilarious! When in doubt just reach into your bag of apostrophes and hope for the best!

Why do they need "your" at all? I'm pretty sure "local shop" would have been fine on its own.
