This Week's Special: Bad Punctuation

This sign annoys me every time I shop at the FoodMaster:

It's almost as disturbing as the fact that the supermarket is carpeted.

This blog has me rofl-ing.

My favorite stray apostrophes are found on mailboxes or welcome mats.

And what's the deal with Caesars Palace? Right across from Bally's and owned by the same company.

Thanks, Steve! It's funny that you mention Caesars Palace because I actually took a photo of one of its signs when I was in Vegas in May. I posted some other photos from that trip, but I haven't gotten around to writing about Caesars yet. Thanks for the reminder. I'll post it in honor of you in the next few days.

I know, but they have cheap food, and a girl's gotta eat...

Carpets in bathrooms are bad enough!

yuck, i never realized it was carpeted!!! but any place that advertises "pork shoulder picnic" in its front display window is already suspect.

Eeeeeeeeeeew. What does that even mean?

So, please explain the real punctuation. That's why I'm here, to discover if it's weeks, or week's. And why.

So, they are talking about one week: this week. And then that one week owns the specials, so there's an apostrophe to indicate possession. "This week's special."
