Permanent Catastrophes

You need a special kind of laser to fix these apostrophe catastrophes:

Thanks to Phoebe for sending me this photo of matching badly punctuated tattoos. In case you can't read the small print, the tattoos say "Hells Belle's." Also, since the images are of bells, one could argue that these count as misspellings, too. Thoughts? One of the girls is a friend of Phoebe's and the other is a friend of her friend. Both shall remain nameless.

Yet another example of why I'm investing in the tattoo-removal industry.

This may be my favorite catastrophe yet. Wow.

It's one of my favorites, too! Thanks for your comment.

I've seen that spelling of Hell's Belles before, so I'd say it was more a case of the image being irrelevant than an actual typo.
It probably would have cost extra to get a tattooed image of a hellishly attractive woman, an attractive woman in hell, or a hellish bell that was also shaped like an attractive woman.
It's definitely an apostrophe catastrophe, though.

I agree. "Hell's Belles" definitely works as a pun, but the image doesn't go with the text.

i'm so glad you posted this. of course, i feel *moderately* bad for poking fun at my friend's unfortunate mistake. but, you know, not TOO terrible. it is rather hilarious. :)
cheers!

actually, it is rather clever, noting that "belle" means pretty in French...
"the prettiest in Hell"

gotta go with the kid above->
"belle" is the french word for "pretty" - so +1 for the wordplay!

Right, but there shouldn't be an apostrophe in belle's.

Looks like tramp stamps to me.
